Panhellenic Information & FAQs
The National Panhellenic Conference is home to 9 values-based sororities at Mississippi State. The chapters provide members with the platform to grow as students, individuals, and leaders. Chapters support various causes and initiatives on campus and in the community.
Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment takes place in the fall semester prior to classes starting. A full schedule can be found here.

Plan on devoting this entire week to recruitment activities. You will receive a schedule each morning with your designated parties.
Visit www.greeks.msstate.edu to register. Registration for recruitment opens May 15 and closes July 20. No applications will be accepted after July 20 at 11:59 pm.
Registration Fee: $135 On-Campus Housing & Early Move-in: $40
The registration fee includes the t-shirts for the Philanthropy and Sisterhood rounds of recruitment, snacks during the days of recruitment, and administrative fees associated with facilitating the recruitment process.
On-Campus Housing and Early Move-In: Please note that participation in Panhellenic Recruitment requires that you move into your on-campus residence on August 12 - a day earlier than the official MSU Move-In Day. This fee is used to cover your early move-in to your assigned residence hall.
All students living on campus who register for Primary Recruitment will be able to sign up for a move-in time slot when prompted by Housing & Residence Life in your Housing Portal.
After you register online, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact the Director of Recruitment at panrecruitment@saffairs.msstate.edu.
A legacy is typically a sister, daughter, or granddaughter of a
sorority alumna. However, each chapter has different requirements for considering a potential new member a legacy. Many national organizations have made changes to their legacy policies so we encourage you to visit your national organization to learn more about their policy.
No, no one is ever guaranteed a bid to a sorority. Each sorority has different policies on legacies. Ultimately, the individual potential new member’s personality, character, resume, grades, etc., are the main determining factors for membership selection.
